About Our Samples

The samples we supply to customers are not free, but you are able to return them. We charge as little as we can for samples and we do not profit from them. We wish the samples were free. However there are costs, postage, printing, cards and the time it takes to assemble the package. The samples are made up when they are requested. We keep the samples in a separate room and we have to maintain the samples carefully, so that they do not get lost. With over 1000 samples to keep track of, it is time consuming. If the samples were free, we would have to cover those costs in fabric sales, and the fabric prices would have to raised.

The Sample Sizes Vary and Here is Why:

We try to provide large samples. We don't believe that you can choose a sofa fabric with a 4 x 4 inch swatch.  Samples of prints are usually large enough that you can get a good idea of the pattern and the colours used. So a large floral print sample might be 12 x 12 inches, but a tweedy upholstery sample would be about 5 x 8 inches.

How to Get the Best Out of Your Samples and Save a Bit Too.

We feel that the best approach is to order quite a few samples and immediately send back any you don't like. Keep the few samples you really like and have a good think on those for a few days before you decide. This way you can have a lot of choice without spending too much.
